Our hip specialist Prof. Dr. Gollwitzer was co-organizer and speaker at the symposium “Complex Hip Surgery 2019” to share his medical knowledge with medical colleagues and hip enthusiasts.
The aim of the conference was to discuss relevant and current topics, in particular for the daily routine in hip surgery. Complex and controversial topics were discussed and techniques were trained in practical applications, so-called workshops.
Prof. Dr. Gollwitzer chaired the discussion group “Complex Cases of Joint Preserving Hip Surgery”, in which difficult cases were discussed that are only treated by a few specialists in Germany.
Furthermore, our hip specialist Prof. Dr. Gollwitzer conducted a workshop on the “AMIS technique” for the implantation of hip prostheses, in which special features and advantages of this minimally invasive and muscle-friendly surgical technique were discussed in detail. He also gave a lecture on the diagnosis and treatment of tendon inflammations and tendon ruptures of the lateral hip muscles (gluteal muscles) as well as on the reflection of the hip joint (hip arthroscopy) in the treatment of diseases of the joint mucosa.
